Privacy

Status: November 2026. This privacy notice explains what happens with personal data on adrianosimonet.ch. It follows the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP/revDSG).

Who is responsible

Adriano Simonet, contact details in the imprint. Questions about your data: simoneta@ethz.ch.

Visiting the website

When you open a page, your browser sends technical data to the server: IP address, date and time, the page requested, browser and operating system. The hosting provider stores this in server log files for security and to keep the site running. I don't use these logs to identify visitors.

The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. The data is processed on Hostinger's servers on my behalf.

No tracking, no third parties

This website uses no analytics, no advertising and no social media plugins. Fonts, scripts and images are served from this server. No data is sent to other providers when you load a page.

Cookies and local storage

Public pages set no cookies. A single technically necessary session cookie (as_sid) is only set when you log in to the tutoring area or the admin area. It ends when you close the browser or log out.

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. It never leaves your device.

Tutoring area

For each tutoring student I store a display name (no last name), a personal access code (only as an encrypted hash) and the documents I upload for them. Only the student with the right code and I can open these documents. To protect the login, failed code attempts are counted per student and IP address for 15 minutes. I delete a student's data when the tutoring ends or when the student or a parent asks me to.

Email

If you write me an email, I use your address and message only to answer you.

Your rights

You can ask me which data about you I store, and have it corrected or deleted. Write to simoneta@ethz.ch. You can also contact the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC).
